Currently, there is a common view in the cryptocurrency market that the so-called "altcoin season" has become a thing of the past. However, a careful analysis of market trends suggests that this view is open to debate.
If there really are no more altcoin seasons, then the market will present an unreasonable state: the long-term trend of the vast majority of altcoins will exhibit a nearly flat curve, followed by a significant loss of value during a prolonged bear market, and they may even be completely removed from trading platforms.
In fact, most altcoins have not yet experienced significant price increases. Less than 10% of altcoins have achieved more than 10 times their increase. If this trend continues, the majority of altcoins may be completely abandoned by the market, losing the interest of investors. This is clearly contrary to the cyclical nature of the market.
Historically, a bull market without a season for altcoins is hard to be regarded as a complete bull market cycle. Even if some believe that the boom period of the cryptocurrency market has passed, it is still a reasonable expectation for high-quality altcoins to rise 5 times and ordinary altcoins to rise 2 times.
If the current altcoin market ends here, it may have a negative impact on the next bull market. Retail investors' interest in the encryption market may significantly decline, and even if new investors enter the market, they might avoid altcoins. This will create survival pressure for market makers and institutional investors.
Of course, we cannot rule out the possibility that some market participants may see this bull market as the last opportunity and plan to exit the market after harvesting the last wave of profits. If that is the case, then investors can only accept this outcome.
Regardless, the future trend of the altcoin market remains full of uncertainty. Investors need to stay vigilant, closely monitor market movements, and manage risks effectively.
