MakerDAO Founder Elaborates on System Optimization and Future Development Trends of Decentralized Finance
The founder of MakerDAO recently discussed a series of measures taken by the protocol to prevent potential failures in the future. At the same time, he also predicted the future development trends of Decentralized Finance (DeFi).
In order to prevent similar market crash events like "Black Thursday" from happening again, the MakerDAO team optimized the protocol and fixed a vulnerability that could lead to zero bids in auctions. Additionally, the decision to introduce USDC as extra collateral also helps to reduce the system's sensitivity to Ethereum price fluctuations, thereby enhancing overall stability.
When discussing the future development of MakerDAO, the founder proposed three key milestones to achieve "complete decentralization". The first is to establish a system that can autonomously hire and pay developers to ensure the smooth operation of daily activities. The second is to build a decision-making mechanism for protocol governance and planning future upgrades. Finally, the third is to implement an authorization mechanism that allows Maker holders to delegate their voting rights to users who are more actively involved in governance.
Regarding the development prospects of Decentralized Finance, the founder believes that although it is still in the early stages, in the long run, the boundaries between Decentralized Finance and traditional Centralized Finance may gradually blur, ultimately achieving some form of integration. This view reflects an expectation within the industry for the future evolution of the financial system.
