Trump and Mexican Foreign Minister Ebrard will discuss tariff issues today.
President Trump and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum will discuss trade and tariff issues in a phone call on Thursday, ahead of the Friday tariff deadline. Sheinbaum has postponed a press conference to prepare for the call.
Mexican officials have been negotiating in Washington, and Economy Minister Marcelo Ebrard stated that Mexico has fulfilled its obligations, and now it is up to the United States to decide on tariffs. Trump earlier warned that if Mexico does not increase its efforts to combat drug cartels, tariffs could rise to 30%.
