Web3 AI Agent explores new directions: Decentralization, application front-end, and cross-border innovation
Recently, after communicating with some entrepreneurs and investors, I found that everyone remains confident about the prospects of the combination of artificial intelligence and Crypto Assets, but there seems to be some confusion regarding the development direction of Web3 AI Agent. In response to this situation, I have summarized several possible future development trends for everyone's reference:
The AI Agent project no longer focuses on issuing tokens as its main selling point and may even avoid discussing tokens altogether. If a project lacks practical application value and only operates based on token economics, it is easy to be labeled as speculative, which is not closely related to the essence of AI.
The development sequence of the AI ecosystem may change. After the AI Agent market bubble bursts, Agents may become the application carriers after the maturity of technologies such as large model fine-tuning and data algorithms. AI Agent projects without core technology support will struggle to attract attention.
Projects that provide foundational services such as AI data, computing power, and algorithms may surpass pure AI Agents to become market focal points. The Agents developed by these platforms may be more market persuasive, as they typically possess stronger teams and technical foundations.
Web3 AI Agents need to seek differentiated development directions, rather than directly competing with Web2 projects. Web3 Agents should focus more on how to innovate by integrating the distributed consensus architecture of blockchain.
The advantage of AI Agent lies in "application pre-positioning", aligning with the concept of "fat protocol, thin application". Future development directions may include how to utilize idle computing power resources, apply distributed architecture to reduce the cost of algorithm applications, and the segmented applications in vertical fields such as finance, healthcare, and education. At the same time, the functions of AI Agent in autonomous asset management, trading, and multimodal interaction need to be gradually improved.
Some emerging technologies in the Web2 field, such as the MCP protocol and Manus automation for multimodal execution, inspire innovation in the Web3 domain. Web3 projects can consider optimizing and improving based on these existing technologies to leverage the unique advantages of Web3. It is important to promote the practical development of AI technology, rather than becoming overly entangled in the ideological battle between Web2 and Web3.
