Metaplanet CEO plans to acquire South Korean SGA to advance Bitcoin strategic layout in Asia.
[Block Rhythm] On July 15, Simon Gerovich, the CEO of the Japanese Bitcoin reserve company Metaplanet, plans to participate in the acquisition of a controlling stake in the South Korean listed software services company SGA. If the deal is finalized, SGA will implement a broader digital asset strategy through the acquisition of Bitcoin. Although Simon Gerovich is participating as an independent investor rather than representing Metaplanet, this move is in line with Metaplanet's growing Bitcoin reserve strategy. This acquisition is part of accelerating the adoption of Bitcoin strategies by Asian enterprises, transforming traditional companies into entities linked to Bitcoin through the deal, making companies like SGA tools for Bitcoin investment in the regional capital market.
Metaplanet announced yesterday that it acquired 797 BTC at a price of approximately 117,451 dollars per Bitcoin, with a total transaction amount of about 93.6 million dollars, and has achieved a Bitcoin yield of 435.9% so far in 2025. As of July 14, 2025, Metaplanet holds a total of 16,352 BTC, with a cumulative acquisition cost of about 1.64 billion dollars and an average acquisition price of approximately 100,191 dollars per coin.
