Analyst: There are no signs of a weakening labor market in this week's initial claims report.

On March 27, it is surprising that weekly jobless claims have remained so stable, given all the factors that have hit the labor market — chief among them the federal government layoffs led by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). In the past year, the number has never been higher than 260,000 and has never fallen below 205,000, and the figures have been particularly stable over the past four weeks. Analysts at High Frequency Economics wrote: "There are certainly no signs of a weakening labor market in this report today. ”
