Eurozone consumer confidence index rose slightly in January

The January 23rd Golden Data News showed that consumer confidence in the eurozone in January rose 0.3 points from December. The preliminary data showed that the eurozone consumer confidence index rose from -14.5 in December to -14.2 this month. Economists surveyed by Reuters had previously expected the index to rise to -14.2. Across the entire European Union, the consumer confidence index remained stable at -13.3. Financial website Forexlive analysis indicated that the data did not develop in the right direction, but it is already far higher than the low point in 2022, when the energy crisis caused the index to fall to -28.8.
