On August 15, Jin10 reported that Sam Altman, the founder of OpenAI, stated in an interview that ChatGPT has quickly become one of the most widely used and influential products in the world. He is now planning to make a significant move into consumer hardware, brain-computer interfaces, and social media. Additionally, if the U.S. government forces Google to sell Chrome, he is interested in the acquisition. He also mentioned wanting to raise trillions of dollars to build data centers. Sam Altman stated that OpenAI needs more GPUs to maintain its scalability, which is one of its top priorities. Altman said, "You should expect OpenAI to spend trillions of dollars on data center construction in the near future. We now have to make these terrible trade-offs; we have better models, but we can't deliver them because we don't have enough Computing Power. We also want to offer other types of new products and services." Sam Altman also confirmed recent reports that OpenAI is planning to invest in a brain-computer interface startup to compete with Musk's Neuralink. He stated, "I think neural interfaces are a cool idea worth exploring. I wish I could think of something, and ChatGPT could respond."
