Jin10 reported on August 9 that Turkey welcomed the peace protocol between Azerbaijan and Armenia, expressing hope that the planned strategic transit corridor will be opened soon, which can facilitate the export of energy and other resources through the South Caucasus region. Previously, the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a U.S.-brokered peace protocol during a meeting with U.S. President Trump, which also included exclusive development rights for a transport corridor running through Armenia, connecting Azerbaijan with Nakhchivan, an exclave of Azerbaijan that borders Turkey, its ally.
